Paneer butter masala

This paneer butter masala has onion in it, that’s how it is different from the paneer makhani which is usually made without onions. You can also make this paneer butter masala without onion and garlic, just skip them and follow the recipe. The only thing you would miss is the amount of gravy, yes recipes that don’t use onions yield lesser gravy.To get the right color without using food colors, choose red ripe tomatoes and good kashmiri red chili powder.

This paneer butter masala recipe needs sauteing the onions and tomatoes in butter first and blending them together which gives a unique flavor to the dish. This also gives a delicious tastes than the one made using raw onion paste or tomato puree.

Ingredients :
1.)250gm paneer (chopped in cubes)
2.)1 medium sized onion(roughly chopped)
3.)2 large tomatoes(roughly chopped)
4.)5 to 6 cashews
5.)2 small cardamom(elaichi)
6.)1 big sized cardamom(elaichi)
7.)2 cloves
8.)1 tsp ginger garlic paste
9.)2 tablespoon fresh cream
10.)salt as per taste
11.)1 tsp red chilli powder
12.)1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder(for getting red colour)
13.)2 tablespoon butter
14.)Oil for frying
15.)1 tablespoon coriander chopped(for garnish)

Method:
1.)In a kadhai add some oil and heat it then add the chopped paneer cubes and nicely fry them till they turn light golden colour.
2.)As soon as the paneer cubes are fried add them to a bowl filled with water & keep aside.
3.)Now we will prepare the gravy for it .
4.)Firstly dry roast some cloves,small cardamom, big cardamom , cinnamon & keep it aside.
5.)Now add some butter in a kadhai & saute some onions & tomatoes for 10 minutes  till they get soft .
6.)Now add the dry roasted spices,cashews  , the sauted onions & tomatoes in a mixer jar  make a thick paste out of it .
7.)In the same kadhai add some butter & little oil so that the butter doesn't burn .
8.)After the butter is heated up add red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste & saute for few mins till raw smell goes away then add the paste which we made earlier.
9.)Now cook the gravy for few mins then add salt, kashmiri red chilli powder (for red colour)and mix well .
10.)Add some fresh cream in the gravy & mix well then add the paneer pieces & mix well till all paneer pieces gets coated with the gravy .
11.)Garnish it with some fresh cream & chopped coriander leaves.
12.)Your paneer butter masala is ready to serve .Serve it with chapati or naan
