Ajwain and mirch ka Laccha Paratha | Laccha paratha | North Indian Food

Hello foodies, welcome to Cooking Shooking with Nikhil. Today I bring to you ajwain land mirch ka laccha paratha. Lachha paratha is a popular North Indian flat-bread. In North India, Lachha paratha is also famously known as Punjabi bread. The word ‘Laccha’ literally means layers in Hindi. Thus, the name laccha paratha is the exact translation of the phrase ‘layered flat-bread’. Lachha paratha is a non-stuffed plain paratha. The good thing I love about plain non-stuffed parathas is that you can pair them with anything you like. They can literally win the award for their role of the best-supporting dish.

Method:
1)First take a small portion of the atta dough. Make it round and flat. Now sprinkle some flour dust on it and then roll out the dough into a nice flat bread as much as possible just like a big roti or Indian bread. Once it is evenly and thinly rolled spread some ghee on the top of the paratha evenly and then sprinkle some  ajwain, kasuri methi and chopped green chillies on it.
2)Now fold the paratha into several plits just like a nicely plited and draped Sari. One by one you have to fold the paratha and once all the plits are done then attach the last section of the paratha with any of the plits.
3)Now a long cylindrical shape of the paratha will form. You have to stretch this cylindrical part to some extent with the help of your hand and then take one corner of the dough fixed in the bottom and wrap the entire portion around it and make a nice ball.
4)Once it’s done dust some flour and again roll it to make a nice plated lachha paratha. Take a tawa and put it on the flame. Let it hot for some time. Then add the lachha paratha onto the tawa. Once it is cooked from one side flip it to another side. Spread some ghee on the cooked side and then repeat this again on the other side. Your awesome flavourful lachha paratha is ready. Enjoy!
5) Serve it with any vegetable of your choice. My personal favorite is chole as it goes very well with the paratha.
