Thandai

Since today is holi I am posting my thandai recipe which tastes heavenly
so let's get started.This fresh, homemade Thandai tastes absolutely heavenly, far superior to the readymade mixes available in the market. Milk, energised with almonds and spices, Thandai is the perfect drink to serve on special days and festive occasions like Holi and Diwali.

Thandai recipe :-
Preparation Time: 5 mins   
Makes 4 glasses
Ingredients:-
1.)4 1/2 cups full- fat milk , boiled and cooled
2.)1/4 cup powdered sugar & 1 tablespoon rose water
3.)a few saffron (kesar) strands

To Be Blended Into A Fine Powder:-
1.)1/4 cup almonds (badam)
2.)2 tbsp poppy seeds (khus-khus)
3.)2 tbsp fennel seeds (saunf)
4.)1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
5.)7 to 8 black peppercorn & 2 tablespoon gulkand 

Method:-
1.)Combine the prepared powder and milk in a deep bowl, mix well using a whisk and refrigerate for 2 hours.
2.)Strain the mixture through a strainer, add the sugar, pepper powder and saffron and mix well.
3.)Pour equal quantities of the thandai into 4 individual glasses and serve chilled.
Chef's Tip:- To make a perfect thandai just keep the milk overnight and drink it next day so that all the flavours  incorporates well .
