Veg. Momos


Momos are a South Asian preparation, popular throughout India and in the Himalayan region. Similar in appearance to the Maharashtrian sweet delicacy 'Ukdiche modak', this savoury dish has nothing else in common with its sweet counterpart. Made with grated cabbage,grated carrot ,ginger ,garlic ,onions momos are voraciously eaten and loved by people from all walks of life.

To make stuffing:
- 2-3 Tbsp Oil
- 2 Tbsp Finly chopped garlic
- 2 Tbsp grated ginger
- 1 Big size finely chopped onion
- 1/4 Cup grated or chopped carrot
- 250 gm finely chopped cabbage
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tsp chrushed black pepper
-1tbsp green chilli paste 
- Salt to taste

To make the dough:
- 2 Cups all purpose flour
- Salt to taste
- Some water

Method:
1.Make the dough first 
2.In a bowl add refined flour /maida with salt & little by little water . Knead a medium soft dough not too hard not too soft .
3.Rest the dough for 10 mins

For preparing the filling:
  1. Grate cabbage , grate carrots, chopped onions & chopped green bellpeppers in a bowl . Also add in garlic, chillies and spring onion white.
  2. Add in salt ,pepper &mix well. 
  3. Add in spring onions and mix well.
  4. Now take a small portion of dough, roll it thin, Spoon some filling in and seal the edges to shape it like a momos.
  5. Now arrange it in a greased steamer plate and steam for 8 to 10 mins.
  6. Serve with spicy chilli chutney.
